Causes Evergreen

Join the revolution in AI-powered, student-centric mental healthcare.

Created by and for Dartmouth students, Evergreen is a first-of-its-kind AI-driven mental health platform that stands to foster new levels of connection, support, and comfort.

Built upon decades of Dartmouth-led research, Evergreen aims to strengthen mental health and well-being at Dartmouth and beyond. Your investment in Evergreen will allow us to build the technology to empower students to reach their full academic and personal potential.

Evergreen Testimonial

As a cognitive scientist and president of Dartmouth, I have a front-row seat to how students are adapting to an increasingly digital world—sometimes in ways that can be very dangerous, but also in ways that can foster the very things that technology is accused of diminishing—including engagement, connectivity, and mental well-being. Beating the mental health crisis will require meeting kids where they are: on their devices.

Story Spotlight: Dartmouth Joins New National Center on AI and Mental Health

Dartmouth will serve as a leading partner in a new artificial intelligence institute backed by the National Science Foundation, building on the university’s pioneering research in developing digital therapeutics for treating addiction and behavioral and mental health disorders.

Story Spotlight: First Therapy Chatbot Trial Yields Mental Health Benefits

In the first-ever clinical trial of a generative AI-powered therapy chatbot, researchers at the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health at Dartmouth found that the software resulted in significant improvements in participants’ symptoms. While AI-powered therapy is still in critical need of clinician oversight, these results show that it has the potential to provide real-time support for the many people who lack regular or immediate access to a mental-health professional. The results of this groundbreaking study were featured in The New York Times, Forbes, MIT Technology Review, and more.

Story Spotlight: Assessing AI-Driven Approaches to Student Mental Health

Whether AI-powered technology can be leveraged to fill the gaps in mental health care and help students thrive was the focus of the AI and Student Mental Health Symposium, held on March 17 at Dartmouth. This event featured talks and panel discussions on student mental health and AI-driven innovations that can be leveraged to extend and enhance existing support systems.
