We are embarking on a bold campaign to reimagine child health from the ground up.
Dartmouth Health Children's has received a $30 million philanthropic investment from entrepreneur and visionary child health leader Tom Golisano—the largest in Dartmouth Health’s history.
In recognition of this transformational commitment, the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) will become Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health and will join the Golisano Children's Alliance, a network of children's hospitals recognized nationally for their unparalleled knowledge sharing and a shared commitment to the highest standards of pediatric healthcare. Inspired by this extraordinary act of generosity, we're launching a campaign to build on that momentum and expand our capacity to bring exceptional, close-to-home pediatric care to the kids and families of northern New England.
Dartmouth Health Children’s Joins Golisano Children’s Alliance With Transformational $30 Million Gift
On September 10, 2026, Dartmouth Health announced a philanthropic investment from entrepreneur and visionary child health leader Tom Golisano. In recognition of this gift, the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) was renamed to Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health.
A Campaign to Expand Care for Every Child in Our Region
Dartmouth Health Children's serves one of the most rural regions in the country. Many of our patients live on seasonally impassable roads, on mountainsides, or many miles from the nearest specialist. Reaching them requires ingenuity, tenacity, and the support of a generous community.
Additionally, New Hampshire's Medicaid reimbursement rates are among the lowest in the nation, meaning Dartmouth Health Children's relies heavily on philanthropic support to deliver exceptional care to every child, regardless of a family's ability to pay.
Your gift in support of this campaign makes that possible.

Where Your Gift Makes a Difference
This campaign will support every area of Dartmouth Health Children's, from neonatal and critical care to the everyday support that ensures kids and families feel safe and comfortable during their time with us.
- Intensive and Critical Care
A full renovation and expansion of our neonatal and pediatric critical care units will bring state-of-the-art care to our smallest and sickest patients and greater comfort and support to their families.
- Behavioral Health
We will significantly expand access to behavioral health services for children and adolescents across our region.
- Growing Specialty Care in Southern New Hampshire
Manchester, New Hampshire, is home to our busiest clinic and one of the fastestgrowing regions we serve. Expanding specialty services here means more children can stay close to home for care, rather than traveling long distances or going outside our system altogether.
- Child Life and Pediatric Social Work
We will infuse critical support into the departments and programs that help kids and families navigate the emotional and practical challenges of illness and hospitalization.
Additionally, the Child Advocacy and Protection Program (CAPP), pediatric integrative medicine, and new endowed roles also represent key campaign priorities.
Mr. Golisano's extraordinary generosity is deeply personal to all of us here at Dartmouth Health Children's, and to the kids and families who rely on us. It means that we are closer than ever before to ensuring that every child in our care can live their healthiest, happiest lives. Now, the real work begins.
What It Means to Never Give Up
On October 9, 2024, in a surgical suite filled with 20 medical professionals, Dean Davies entered the world. At 20 weeks, an ultrasound had revealed Dean likely had Down syndrome as well as duodenal atresia, which would require surgery. But after he was born, doctors discovered that Dean also had two holes in his heart. Today, against all odds, Dean is thriving. His parents credit the caregivers who surrounded him from his first moments; they know him, love him, and celebrate his every milestone.

A Community of Caregivers
Harlei and Melvin Pierce are no strangers to Dartmouth Health Children’s. At the age of 2, clinicians diagnosed their daughter Astraea with a rare genetic condition that limits her ability to move and speak. At age 6, she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. One year later, with help from pediatric neurologists, surgeons, oncologists, physical therapists, and others, the Pierces feel a sense of comfort. Their daughter has received the best possible care from specialists who collaborated with them, and with each other, to build a regimen tailored to Astraea’s needs.
Join Us in Building a Brighter Future
Every gift to this campaign—at every level—helps us deliver on our promise to help all kids lead their healthiest, happiest lives. We hope you will be a part of this exciting new era for Dartmouth Health Children’s and for kids and families in our region and beyond.
