A Pacemaker Fit for a Cyclist
Larry Morgan cycles thousands of miles each year across New Hampshire’s White Mountains. When Morgan found out he needed a pacemaker, Dartmouth Health’s Dr. Kevin Kwaku made sure the lifesaving device would be specially programmed to help Morgan maintain his active lifestyle.

HVC CARES (Heart and Vascular Center Community Awareness Research and Education Saves Lives) is a community outreach program that serves residents of rural and underserved communities throughout New Hampshire and Vermont who might not be aware of their risk for heart disease.
Honoring the Memory of Dr. Lauren Gray Gilstrap
Lauren Gilstrap (1983-2022) was a clinician, mentor, and scholar who deeply touched the lives of her many patients, students, colleagues, and friends at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and beyond. The Dr. Lauren Gray Gilstrap Memorial Fund for Cardiology has been established to honor her memory.

The Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center delivers effective, integrated care for the full range of cardiovascular conditions and diseases to residents of northern New England. Led by renowned vascular surgeon Richard J. Powell, MD, HVC provides patients with comprehensive prevention strategies, advanced treatment options, and access to groundbreaking technologies—some of which are only available in clinical trials—all within an environment that prioritizes compassionate care.
