A New Era for Child Health
We are embarking on a bold campaign to reimagine child health from the ground up. Dartmouth Health Children's has received a $30 million philanthropic investment from entrepreneur and visionary child health leader Tom Golisano—the largest in Dartmouth Health’s history. Inspired by this extraordinary act of generosity, we're launching a campaign to build on that momentum and expand our capacity to bring exceptional, close-to-home pediatric care to the kids and families of northern New England.
“Every single person we met while Rowan was in the ICN was amazing—from his nurses and providers...lactation consultants, occupational therapists, speech and language [therapists], etc. We will never forget the exceptional care and compassion we received from everyone caring for Rowan.
He Grew with Early Neonatology
Fifty years ago, Jesse Blanchard was one of the first babies born prematurely in the nascent neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. The tale of his birth is the story of the beginnings of neonatology, and sheds light on how the field has matured.
Become a HERO
The HERO is a festival of fun and celebration to benefit Dartmouth Health Children’s and Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health. On October 18, 2026, thousands of athletes, families, volunteers, and friends will gather on the Dartmouth Green in Hanover, NH, ready to make an impact and have the time of their lives doing it. From the signature Half Marathon to the crowd-favorite Cam’s Course 1-Mile Fun Run, there’s a place here for every HERO. Last year? 3,600+ participants raised a jaw-dropping $1 million!
Events to Support Dartmouth Health Children's
In addition to the HERO, we host exciting events throughout the year. From football and hockey games to an annual Storybook Ball, our events raise critical funds that benefit every kid who receives one of our many services. Get involved and help our kids today!
Owen Zak Is Not Just a Child Cancer Survivor
Owen is well known at Dartmouth Health Children's. He began his life in the Intensive Care Nursery at Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health (formerly CHaD) and continued to receive care until he was 3 years old. Then, just two months later, he received an unexpected diagnosis and returned to Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health for treatment.
A Friendly Face Coordinating Complex Care for Children
As a lifelong patient in the Face of a Child Program at Golisano Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Health (formerly CHaD), Colton Ricotelli's care is largely organized by Shelly Calley, the program coordinator. Healthcare coordinators often do most of their work behind the scenes as unsung heroes, but for families like the Ricottellis, Calley’s work ensuring patients get the best and more comprehensive care makes her an essential part of their care team.
